It’s called Crushed Clean, mine rock, mined from a local quarry. We chose
not to use river pebbles due to possible mercury contamination from 1800’s
gold mining operations in Sierra rivers. This type of rock is available
about anywhere as it’s used as a road base rock often times. It’s hard on
the fingers though. I plan to offer a new kind of porous silicon rocks at a
cost lower than hydraton with equal or superior performance….and easy on
fingers. Mine rock is best for trees though. rt
No, carrots grow all crazy shaped in this heavy of gravel. I’m working on a
new table design so stay tuned. Also, check out and fund the Kickstarter
project I just launched and you’ll see how to grow carrots faster. rt

I used pea gravel in mine. Turned out to be limestone, nothing would really
grow in it. I switched to a ph neutral rock and the growth is exploding.
