why would you add worm castings(a form of compost/N) and compost? Not sure what the N levels are in your areas compost are, but in my area that amount of nitrogen cause serious PH problems in my soil…
John thanks for doing these vids … on my 3rd year hydro garden. About that $20 bag of carbon… If you make a ditch and Big campfire and then put it out halfway through you will have Free charcoal, more natural for cooking and growing … P.S. Had no idea about re-mineralization… I am going to enrich the soil using your suggestions as this is our (my wife and I) first soil garden … Note: Central Florida has FREE COMPOST … like Orange County California where I am from part time … Thanks
I started with rotted cow manure, but had lots of clay too, so I used lots of peat moss and compost bin and just started worm bin. It was great to get this piece of gardening info since you never see anything about replenishing your garden levels. I’ve also wanted to try green manures, but usually my season is too short and garden too small to save out beds for rotation.
JON! LOVE YOUR SHOW,
I grow in pots, i like your non till technique, how long can grow in 20L pots without tilling before stratification kicks in?
thanks,
big fan
ps do you know of any rock dust (azomite) that’s available in China?
