Often you can get a ruler for free at Health Fairs and such (if you don’t mind that it has an advertisement on it for a hospital or some such thing).

I just built my first raised bed and its 4×4 foot. I am doing square foot gardening for fall crop greens. Finally took the plunge. Thanks for all the info and encouragement John!

what can I plant with bell peppers so the bugs dnt eat on them? I know some food U can plant with others so they keep the bugs away..IE: like onions and carrots keep bugs off of each other..

definatly important!, I use somewhat a form of square foot gardening, but i tend to just eye ball it because i have so much space! Thanks for sharing john, I will have to go get some 1 cent stuff soon!

They were purchased at walmart.. for $10. the are 4 feet in diameter. I used 6 cu ft of OMRI compost in one bed + 3 cu ft of expanded coconut coir + 2 cu ft of vermiculite + 1 cu ft of composted manure to fill the bed.
