When getting free (or) low-cost compost from a city facility, always ask for a listing of ingredients. Push for specifics. Question everything.
Kellogg, a major retail brand that markets organic soil/compost includes sewage sludge in their Amend product.
Organic soil labeling standards are quite different from those required in organic produce.

Toxic sewage sludge is being added to municipal composting products. Watch out for euphemistic language like “biosolids” which is a industry soft term for sewage sludge.
