www.learningbeekeeping.com Frank and I head off to check on the hives. We find lots and lots of things to fix and harvested some honey. Damn good honey at that.

25 Responses to Beekeeping Trip to the Outyard
I would have put her out of her misery that day. My dad has a hive like that though. A few weeks ago my Dad and cousin wanted to pull a frame of brood to prop up a nuc my cousin had in my fathers bee yard. As soon as they touched the frame it was game on. My cousin took about 60 stings to his ankles through a tyvec suit. My father didn’t have the the flap all the way down on his veil and he took something like 30 to the head. Walking around the hive provokes them. Life is too short for mean bees
If all the beekepers use apple cider vinegar, the bees won`t sting anymore…just apply to the uncovered parts of the body and the bees will run before sting you… It`s certified by me when I make the inspection of my hives,I got 21 hives,on last inspection none of my bees sting me !!! So, use apple cider vinegar and they will won`t sting!
I too have a “Bloody Mary” hive. I really makes beekkeeping miserable. They have flown 20 yards out of their flight path to get me, they have chased me around the long side of my house into the back door and they have hung out by the back door for hours. I call them the “Meanies” They have been requeened 2 times by a very experienced beekeeper, with no success…
Make sure you show the dispatching of Bloody Mary…I’ve sort of become enamored with her “reputation”. Off with her head!!! (very ceremoniously though)
I’m sorry, but Bloody Mary must die. There are cattle coming to the out yard and this hive poses a safety threat to man and animal. This hive isn’t just aggressive, it is bloodthirsty. Even the Mexican drug gangs are trying to recruit it.
all our bee are africanized in PR, there aggressiveness is gone after generation breeding with the native bees we have here,i water my lemon trees which is only 10 away from hive and they dont attack me or my chickens either, and they are great producers in building comb and honey we do not have the mite problems or CCD or diseases, so we done need to treat our bees, and i will never trade them for some crappy European or Russian bees , either way i love you video keep them coming
do not kill off your bloodly mary hive , what is your fu#King problem with your guys in the north , because you cant where your shorts you going to kill a good producing hive give me a break , i bet bloody mary will not have any mite problem or CCD, yes they are aggressive so what ?, from what i see on your location there no home close to it to worry about them attacking anyone, ; let nature take it cause and let them breed out them aggressiveness after a few generation like what happen to pr
glad to see another video from you great job.i found out a about a month ago that i have a hive of bees in my porch it should bee a straight forward extraction it is a box with a roof perfect home for em,i have some beekeepers helping me (my first time) they where saying that there could be as much as 3lb of bees in there, and could be as much as 30lbs of honey they get the bees for helping me and i get the honey and wax,btw i live in minnesota i will keep you posted, thank you for your videos, lyn
