Newbie with new bees inspecting the hive at day 21 and adding a second deep brood box. Having trouble distinguishing a queen cup cell from a drone cell, and I think I may have mistakenly scraped out some drone cells. If you watch long enough you’ll see me getting stung and crying like a baby. Music by me.
Good point, thanks!

I think that was only the second time I had been stung until then, lol. I’m a little less jumpy now. I started with a ‘nuc’, purchased from a local beekeeping supplier. The nuc had a queen, two frames of bees (about 10,0000 bees), and two frames of brood and honey. This video was taken three weeks after installing the hive.

@green2lean, the chicken feeders are a good idea. My hives are by a creek so I’m lucky there. Good luck with your hives!

Thanks much for the comments Green. Learning as we go for sure.
It’s just long grass in the feeder on top of the water for a float, there’s also a few styrofoam chips in there. I’m getting a top feeder to replace it which will be more convenient both for me and the bees.
I scraped the stinger, just hope I’m a bit more zen next time in case I’m holding a frame of bees, lol. This was shot about a week ago, hive was installed 4 weeks ago from a purchased nuc. Cheers
