What does a beekeeper need to do now in August. Be sure you have a good Queen before it gets too late.

The beekeeper finally showed up, and when we opened the first hive (the one
that had no queen 2 months ago, but now has one) they were meaner than
junkyard dogs !! They were pretty angry and came out of the hive with a
vengeance….SOooo..he closed it up. We opened the 2nd hive and they had a
LOT of honey..I got some honey comb that was so incredibly good. So, the
nice bees had more honey, and he said he will have to kill that queen
eventually in the mean hive. The queen made them mean.! It made me nervous
to have them all bouncing off of me like mad little monsters!!
Don’t worry you do a good job on making videos. I’ve enjoyed every one I
watched.

I am a new beekeeper. I have two hives. One of the hives swarmed and I
caught the bees. That was about a month ago. It is starting to get cool
here in Kansas, maybe an early winter. Any thoughts on how to winter over
these bees?
Thank you Mr. Durham for another fantastic video! You have been such a big
help to a new beekeeper like myself. I watched your video on finding the
queen, but still have problems so I mostly look for capped brood and
larvae. I was wondering if you could tell me how much honey can I take off
now? Thank you again Sir.
You know how hard it is to fine the queen on a frame with 30k bees in a
box, Like fining a needle in a hay stack! hehehe only way i can is look
for eggs and new brood hehehe I going to have to make some screen bottoms
boards that are closed in with a oil pan. We just have to many
SHB……Thanks for sharing Tim Sir and keep the blogs coming, cheers
Looking good, i hope to be raising 3 or 4 hives next year if i can get the
bees. Never tried it. but it looks so interesting. You do a good job
instructing.
The beekeeper who put hives on my property has not been here for almost 2
months….ugh. (shaking my head)..He was suppose to be teaching me how to
take care of them, but that didn’t quite happen. Wondering how they are
doing. All I can see is that they are busy and going to and from the hive.
I told him I was not going into his hives without him, so hopefully he
shows up soon. Thanks for the video….I am jealous. =)
I have have Ben checking my hive for the queen the last two times I have
gone in there but did not see her but I see egg the last two time.what do
you recommend to do
I have a small colony of bees that has struggled all summer, once there was
no queen so I added eggs from another hive, they didn’t do anything but
gather honey. I added eggs again and they produced a queen but meanwhile
all the honey disappeared. Now I have a laying queen but an empty hive.
Should I keep trying to feed them or combine it with another hive? Any
ideas why it struggled so much when my other 3 hives were fine? Enjoying
your videos, thank you, dianne

Is the yellow and black flag behind you so you know where your hives are or
is it to let people know there is a bee hive there?

There is something special about honey on a hive tool. Only beekeepers can
experience that. Great video!

Thank you for all of your information. Now would you please answer the
question of what products you sell come from your bees? Thank you.
