25 Responses to ASMR Urban Organic Garden Tour (Newfoundland Garden June 2013) Relaxing, Rain
Sounds great…We are in the shortest wettest coldest growing season here
and Latah tomatoes are the only ones that will grow outdoors, I have to use
very short season even in the greenhouse 🙂
It evolved from a gravel lot to what we have now over 8 years. I had all
the basics in the first year. (stone wall, topsoil, wild plants) Two years
ago did the raised beds, arbor & trellis, we completed it in about 1 month.
I prune and plant in the spring ( 2-3 weekends a few hours each weekend), I
water & mow in summer (1 hour a week) Check for bugs (20 minutes per night
because we have mutant slugs!) and harvest as needed. I spend more time
watching and eating from it than working at it 🙂
Awesome garden! How long did it take you from start to finish, and how many
hours a day you spend picking and taking care of it? Thinking of doing one
here too.
How absolutely beautiful and relaxing! It is a rainy day here in Eastern
Wa. state also. I have never seen white flowered chives before! If i look
really closely, i think i can see fairies dancing! Blessings to you!
A room, like inside the house? My house is very small, I do have a house
tour here, but I’m speaking…Did you want one without voice for
relaxation? If you just wanted to see the house you can search ( (Tour of
our healthy home – Green Home Construction ) I can do another quiet one too
🙂
Thanks 🙂 We pretty much did everything ourselves. We bought the wooded lot
9 years ago. Yes it’s just regular washed 1″ crushed stone, we had a second
load delivered and the pit sent 1″ washed granite so some of that is mixed
in too.
The white chives are an heirloom, I love them too. I could share some seeds
if you remind me in the fall (because I will probably forget haha) Thanks
🙂
I’m sure that it took a lot of work, but it deserved it!!! Congratulations,
the world would be better with more people like you!! Thank you so much for
shearing!!
That would be fantastic! I am experimenting with some heirloom tomatoes,
and if I find they are successful in our northern climate short growing
season, I would be happy to send you some seeds in return! <3

Thanks 🙂 It took a few years and a lot of work, but we like it, if the
weather is nice and the black flies aren’t swarming 😀
