I’ve seen them turned loose in this state, and check with the Dept. of Natural Resources, or Fish & Game Though, typically, your neighbor’s chickens are wilder.

i dont think you would be allowed to take eggs or chicks from the wild. but if you buy them and raise them as livestock, i dont think there is a problem. i know many people who have raised turkeys around the house.

Go to http://www.mbaba.org, and find a sale near you. You should be able to find wild and many domestic birds at the sales. You should have no problem after buying them from these breeders.

A raised Turkey under Indiana law is not a true “Wild” Turkey, even if it is a Wild Turkey. Once handled by humans, unless part of a take and place program, they are no longer considered true Wild Turkeys. You’d still need a permit from the DNR to have and keep a “wild” animal.
