Question by GeysaVD: Are companies using goat milk to make low fat ice cream?
I read on the paper the other day that Ben & Jerry’s is using goat milk on their light flavors, because it’s lower in fat and doesn’t compromise taste. However, I can’t find the article online. Can anyone confirm?

  3. I know some companies like La-loos uses goat milk for a low fat ice cream, so I guess it is possible Ben and Jerrys do, but cannot confirm this either.

  4. On Ben&Jerry.com they use cream, milk, skim milk but no mention of goats milk. They do not even mention it in what’s new.

  5. I was led to believe that goat’s milk actually has *more* fat in it that normal milk (whole) unless it’s skimmed. Then what is the point of using a non-traditional milk?

  8. Goat milk is creamier & higher in fat than regular whole cow’s milk… the only comparison I could speculate is that goat milk is lighter than pure cream. Ice cream made with goat milk is smooth and does taste very good!
