Question by princessblaise39: Any Goat whisperers out there? How do i keep em in tha paddock?
I put em in, they jump out, found them across the road in the pony farm this morning. Two young frisky goats should i tether the leader. I’m a city girl lookin after someone elses farm goats have been given by a neighbour, they are new arrivals – i round them up with the dog but they wont stay rounded up – am a total farm nuffy help!
What do you think? Answer below!
interesting that this is in G&WS…..
and the goats aren’t listening to you because they don’t want to. goats are very smart, but super tempermental. call the farm owner and see if s/he’s got any tricks. most goat owners do.

had a friend who had a few goats when I was a kid…she literally keep a collar and leashed them to were ever she wanted them to eat.
sounds like you need a taller fence.

You can cut the tendons on their hindlegs so they can’t jump

I never that of that, it sounds like it actually could work, not just on goats.

fill up the pen with old shirts, beer cans, straw hats, wet newspapers, dirty socks and candles. Goats with plenty to eat tend to stay home.
Nah. Kidding. Like the others said. You either have to tether them or have a high fence. Bastards can jump like nobody’s business.
If you only have a couple, the electric dog collars and the buried wire fence thing works on goats, too.
