Question by : Accidentally baked chicken in oven with plastic in the broiler?
I was cooking cordon bleu in the oven when I smelled burning plastic. I then realized that there was a calculator in the broiler(thanks to my toddler). Anyway, I peeled all of the coating off of the chicken and ate it. Do you think it was okay to eat?

  1. It was probably the least healthiest thing you would eat in your life time. Plastic has chemicals in it that, when melted, would go into the air, or be absorbed into what it’s touching. That wasn’t a good idea on your part. Maybe you should have looked it up before eating it? xD

  2. Your toddler opened the oven door? Apparently you need to purchase a safety latch for it, along with one for the refrigerator, and any doors and cabinets that pose a danger to your child.

  3. As long as you didn’t eat any large piece of plastic, eating some won’t kill you or affect you too deeply. It is not bad as sniffing cocaine (I only know this intellectually). But be cautious next time, because as the first answer said, it can be dangerous and often does make its way into the atmosphere. But an eventual build-up of toxic plastic chemicals might not be good when you reach your … oh, 70’s? But of course, everyone is in very bad condition by then from all the bad things they did before (ex: too much sex, junk food, drug, etc). So just watch out.
