  1. The 3 wethers will usually cost between $ 25 and $ 100 each depending on breed and quality.

Fencing will cost about $ 600 for two rolls of 345ft fencing which should be enough to fence in about 1/4 of an acre.

Barns can be very expensive. We were able to get our building materiels from a neighbor for free so if you can find some that would be great but having someone build you a barn can add up to $ 800+

Each bale of hay, bag of grain, etc will cost about $ 8 each. Three goats will go through about a bale of hay every two weeks and a bag of grain about every three weeks.

    Hope I could help!

  2. It really depends on where you live.
3 pet goats around here could cost you nothing or up to $ 10 if you get them while still nursing.
We use cattle panels for fencing and you can sometimes find them used but new they range around $ 30 each. Other people find that their goats will learn to stay behind 3 or 4 strands of hot wire or rope. That’s much less expensive. Premier fencing has some great product.
Wethers usually don’t need any grain but do need a good mineral made just for goats, or a horse mineral in a pinch. I can get enough mineral for 3 goats for a month or so (if they’ve been getting mineral all along.) for from $ 2 to $ 15 depending on what kind and where I get it.
Straw is getting hard to find and a 35 to 40 pound bale make cost from $ 3 to $ 5 depending on where you get it and how long it will last depends on how big a place you’re bedding.
Hay can run from $ 2.75 in the middle of summer if you buy direct from the farmer to $ 7 if from a feed store, perhaps even higher. The bale will weigh between 40 and 50 pounds. How much your goat will eat depends on breed and if you have suitable pasture or browse.
You’ll need hoof nippers, collars, water buckets, water heaters if you live where it gets cold, wormer and shots. Price on these depends on your vet.
