It is now almost November. Is it safe to get a black garbage bag around it and put it out for the garbage truck?

  1. Beehives dont fall from trees,. it is probably a wasp nest, paper looking?
If there is nothing flying around it, just bag and dump.
If there is still activity around it , you would be attacked if you try to move it. get a can of wasp killer and spray it from a distance, be ready to run

  2. When in doubt…punt!

Just kidding; bag it at night, quickly.

  3. you need to go out at night (when it’s cold) when its cold out bees are way more non active..so if there are bees in the nest they wont be moving much as long as it’s like 45 degrees or colder. we have all kinds of bees around my house..honey bees, yellow jackets, wasps, hornets…ect.. and my husband sprays their nests at night and that’s also when we do the removing. so you could spray it with wasp spray and then bag it or you could just bag it if your brave enough. but please make sure you have a good flash light so you can see…and like someone else said…be prepared to run…i never have had to yet..but that doesn’t mean it wont happen! Good luck!

  4. Have someone who is not allergic do the job. Someone who has been stung before. I would use the plastic bag method that you’re thinking of trying. There is also wasp and insect spray that you can douse the hive with before you pick it up. Just don’t crush or rattle the hive. If it is a wasp’s nest, or yellow jacket nest, then keep in mind that they are hostile and sting without warning.
