  1. Enough honey to make 5 gallons of honey wine (mead) costs around 45-75 dollars depending on how strong you want to make it. Also Honey having medicinal properties has not been documented. The reason honey has “anti-bacterial” properties is because of its high viscosity and high acidity. If you dilute honey with distilled water it will become infected and go bad quite fast.

  6. I am fairly sure you could. and the sugar on them won’t change anything. Sugar is yeast food.

  8. My grandmother used to make dandelion wine…this brings back memories. I have her recipe and now I guess there is no excuse to put it off any longer. 🙂 Thanks.

  12. bakers’ yeast and brewers’ yeast are the same organism so it must be in your head that the wine tastes different. Saccharomyces cerevisiae – yeast is yeast, by any other name

  17. Do not use dandelions on from a yard that receives pesticides/herbicides. The flower will absorb all compounds in the ground indiscriminately.

  20. I don’t have a problem with how you made this and i am sure it turned out good but the only thing i had a problem with was I felt like with the honey this would be technically be called a mead

  21. O.O that’s a lot of honey you must have some beekeeper friends because honey is not at all cheap so I’d feel better using sugar.
