Cows out to grass :) Springtime on Ayrshire dairy farm

Cows went out to graze grass this year on 5th May- 2 weeks later than last year. It’s been a very wet sunless winter. It’s great to see the sun again – Hopefully it will be a long hot dry summer.

  23. Don`t complaint about wet weather. Here, in argentina, we are having the driest season of the last 40 years. Most dairy farmers have no grass, no silage left and only 1/4 of the maize silage that was in the budget for next season. It will a hard year the one ahead for us. Cheers

  25. It’s going to be tight Hoping for a early spring 🙂 I have purchased straw , tatties and carrots to make it last a bit longer. Silage is very expensive this year in this area Seems a lot of farmers are going to run out before spring
