Honey Harvest w/ Bee Escape Beekeeping 101

GardenFork.TV Watch us harvest honey using a bee escape to remove the honeybees from the honey super. There are several ways to get the bees out of a honey super to harvest the honey, i think this way is the best, though it does take a day or two for all the bees to leave the honey super through the bee escape. We are documenting our first years of beekeeping with our Beekeeping 101, or Beginning Beekeeping video how-to series. You can also hear us talk about bees on GardenFork Radio, available on our site and iTunes. s More beekeeping videos on our site, www.GardenFork.TV

  2. very cool man. wish I knew about these a few years ago when we had our first couple hives. now it would just take too much time and effort to do that too all my hives and it would hult the honey production on other uncapped supers that are layered. but with a single super, this would be a perfect non-toxic way to clear the super

  21. Nice video. I’ve used the exact same double triangle set up for 2 years now (2nd year beekeeper – 10 hives) and am still amazed it works. We wanted our hives to be 100% chemical free (by us) so fume boards were out and blowers are just rude — LOL
