  2. How about breast milk? My son is dairy allergy too. So I breastfed him and after that continue with Isomil. And when he was 18 months I gave him Pediasure, and he is just fine.

  4. breast milk is best–if you go on a dairy free diet, your baby will be dairy free as well…

i have been dairy free for 3 years so far (since i found i am allergic) and it is the best decision i could have made…

  5. I am allergic to milk, have been since birth. Don’t listen to people who say try carnation or lactaid or goat’s milk – there all milk based. Why don’t you want to use soy milk? When I was little, soy wasn’t as readily available, so I ate coconut milk in cereal, and my mom used it (or water) to bake with, etc. But I’m in my 20’s and the best and healthiest alternative I’ve found is soy milk. Try silk vanilla, healthier than regular milk even. I’ve had rice milk, too, but soy is better.

Try looking up the food allergy network online, they always have good ideas.

Look for a dairy free cookbook too.

  6. My second daughter was born with a milk allergy. She could not tollerate any milk products or ingredients including cream, cheese, yogurt, pudding, lactose, lactic acid, casein, whey and more. All of this made her very sick giving her hives, a rash, runny nose, watery eyes, asthma symptoms, coughing, diarrhea, vomitting, etc. She went to the ER many times with severe reactions. They made me carry around an epipen and keep one at school as well. The last time we went to the ER they said had some pudding at grandma’s house. They said that if we had waited or if she ate another bite she might have stopped breathing because her lungs were closing up. This is what an allergy looks like.

If somebody has diarrhea, vomitting, and belly aches only then that is not an allergy, but lactose intollerant. Giving this person lactaid milk is alright. Giving somebody with an allergy lactaid milk can make them stop breathing and go into anaphelactic shock. They could possibly die if the allergy is serious enough.

My daughter just turned nine years old in January. All testing showed that she finally outgrew her allergy to milk. Now she can drink it alright without any problems. For nine years she lived off of soy milk, soy cheese, soy chocolate. She was fine with it and that is what is recommended for children with a milk allergy. I drink it too and I like it. I buy the Silk brand. It tastes the best. For a baby though she really needs to be on formula right now atleast until she is one. My daughters doctor had us try to keep her on formula until she was two but by the time she was eighteen months she was all done with it. She just stopped drinking it. That is when we moved onto soy milk.

  8. You could try EdenSoy Orginal Soymilk. It can be bought at most Publix grocery stores. Or you could also try a Whole Food Market store.
