  5. One problem, the first turbine you show, does not have a gearbox. It is an Enercon direct drive turbine, it rectifies the AC power of the generator uptop.Then filters it, sends it down tower, then inverts it through inverter cabinets.

  6. Just a correction: the statement that DC is converted into AC so the energy can be transmitted more efficiently is not true. The true reason is that the grid is an AC grid, al the appliances use AC and the transformer that steps up the voltage can only work in AC. That is the main problem of this green energy — is not proper AC. It is a rather chopped DC creating lots of problems because of that.
