This is the last picture of our rooster, Marik, before he went to a new home. He’s a buff laced polish, and had tons of roostery attitude.
Question by jay-c: What birds behead other birds before eating just the head?
recently my father and i have found some dead birds in our backyard missing their heads.. but we find their missing beaks nearby. This leads us to wonder… could it be a hawk, eagle? cat? or my own Beagle? doing this?
We ruled out our Dog because the kills seem too clean cut, only the head is missing and the beak is always found. Any suggestions?
What do you think? Answer below!
its maybe some very cruel boy or girl???? but if not a eagle or hawk…

Four hawks are know to eat birds. Cooper’s, goshawk, sharp-shinned and sparrow. I would think any one of these could like the head. A sparrow hawk will get birds when other food is scarce.

I grew up in the country and we had ducks and chickens. We once found several baby ducks in the same condition surrounded by raccoon footprints.
