Is it possible to hypnotize yourself?
There is an urban legend about a hypnotist on TV performing the finger lock trick to an audience on live TV. However some people watching the broadcast ended up having their fingers locked together and about 20,000 people had to be snapped out of it. It turns out that this actually has happened just by watching a video. Does anyone know of a way i can hypnotize myself fro home? I really want to try this.
(please no stupid screaming videos that try to scare. It’s not funny)

Self hypnosis is possibly but I’m pretty sure another person would be needed (making it not actually self hypnosis) So i guess i just contradicted myself

It’s very possible to hypnotize yourself. In fact, it’s often said that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.
There are a book by Kevin Hogan called “Through the Open Door” about self-hypnosis. It’s where I started to learn about the process. He also has a web site that’s not great, but the book is very good.
An English hypnotist, Adam Eason, has a lot of self-hypnosis material available. Most of it’s on his web site, and there are several different self-hypnosis techniques for different results.
I also have a simple method for self-hypnosis free on my web site which is pretty simple and works very well.
That said, a magician’s stage hypnosis and most self-hypnosis courses differ. Most self-hypnosis is all about changing habits and creating positive new beliefs. I’ve never tried to hypnotize myself to think I’m a chicken. Maybe I should do that right now…
