Question by Meg: How can I convince my parents to buy me a guinea pig?
We already have a dog, a cat and 3 chickens but I REALLY want a guinea pig. I want a reddish one and a black and I would call them Ketut and Rhonda.

  1. Don’t get a guinea pig. Get a chinchilla they are way cooler.

  2. okay so I really wanted a Holland lop bunny for christmas and I could already tell my parents probably werent going to get me one..so I emailed my mom because she is always on her email(you can also print something out and just give it to your mom…) and here ill copy and paste my email but its pretty much just really cute pictures of bunnys and how they are good pets and stuff and why i deserve one: i google this and found a lot of reviews here on yahoo answers

I was looking online for bunny’s and Holland lop bunnys are really cute and are supposed to be really nice. They’re the ones with floppy ears and they stay small. Alexa has one and her bunny is tiny and follows her around everywhere and I looked at peoples reviews of them and here are some:

    Holland Lop Rabbit Breed
Holland Lop rabbits are known for being the sweetest rabbit available. I can confirm that, since I own a Holland Lop rabbit, named Luka. She has never bitten me, or shown any aggressive tendencies towards anyone. This is the same thing said by many other Holland Lop Owners.

Holland Lop rabbit don’t grow particularly large, making them fantastic for families who don’t have unlimited space, nor a backyard. You can feed Holland Lop rabbits hay, or pellets. I feed mine a combination of both.

Holland Lop rabbits are also easily litter box trained, making them even better as pets!

    HERES A WEBSITE FOR SOME:

(if you go on google and type in “holland lop bunnys for sale in san diego” it will show you them)

    Pros:
    They are loving.
    They are great with kids.
    They are smart.
    They are cuddly.
They do not need to be handled every day.
They are cheap to look after.
They do not get lonely if there is only one.

    Cons:
    Some of them thump alot.
If you dont handle them for ages and ages, they will become anti-social and bite you.

I am a little bit biased since I breed them, but I love my Hollands. They are overall a very sweet, loving breed and their small size makes them a common pet breed.

My bucks (boys) tend to be extremely friendly. They’re always at the front of the cage waiting for attention and enjoy being loved on and cuddled. My bucks are great with kids, and I often use them when doing public presentations and events for our local 4-H group.

My does are also friendly, but tend to take on the personality of a cat, rather tan their “puppy-like” boyfriends! The does enjoy attention and pets, but on their own time. After the age of 6 months, some does become territorial and don’t enjoy young children or people reaching in and grabbing at them. The bucks are all over this attention! But the does are a little more standoff-ish.

For a pet, especially for children, I would highly suggest a buck. Not ALL bucks are outgoing and friendly, but if you ask a local breeder for a pet for your children, the breeder should be able to help you pick out a buck with a personality just like I described.

One thing to remember is that rabbits are naturally ground-dwelling animals. So many rabbits get scared or nervous when being carried. This is commonly a time that they will scratch and try to get away. So I would suggest encouraging your children to play with bunny on the floor, or pet him on their lap, rather than carry him around the house with them. With proper supervision and proper handling, rabbits make wonderful pets…especially the Holland Lops.

Good luck with your new bunny! And feel free to contact me if you need any more help.
