Question by elizabeth_schadick: How would I keep goats to graze 3 acres of Poison Oak and brush?
What is involved in caring for Goats? I do not need or want goats milk. How many goats would I need? I also do not want to breed goats.

One goat per acre is the usual rule.

1st you must have a very good fence. 2nd you need to arrange a way to keep them watered always. unless you are raising them for profit any goat will work. you could easily raise 1 billy and 3 or 4 nannies on that amount of land and they will be very happy in that environment. dont try to get just one though, they are social animals and like to araound other goats. good luck

If you would like to avoid milk and breeding, all males would solve both issues. One per acre should do the trick.
Very little other care is needed with the exception of containment
