  2. Cornish Crosses will get lazy. I keep them busy. Start putting them out in the pen during the day at 1 wk. old. 2 things chickens like to do. Scratch and fly up to a roost. Fresh dirt to scratch in. Put a couple worms in the dirt. One will grab a worm and the race is on. Put a 2X2 across the pen 6 or 8 inches high in the sheltered end. Give them a roost. I feed Purina grower, soaked corn meal and clover. Moving the pen daily. Been doing this 14 yrs. and never a leg problem. Just a few ideas.

  3. Cut and chop fresh clover for your birds. They like clover and this will get them foraging better. Put a bucket of fresh dirt in the pen everyday. Good luck with your birds.

  4. What Breed did you use? If you used Cornish Rocks then thy can grow to fast and will not eat grass very well. The pen looks like it is well put together.
