It doesn’t matter what form it is in, you can still use it in making soap. Be sure it is real glycerin, and not a diluted form. The block is perhaps a better choice since it might be purer. Glycerol is quite thick and it is often diluted with other ingredients to make it in a form that consumers will use. it is not very pure this way.

To make goat milk soap, you need goat milk and lye plus any other compatible materials you want to include. To make coconut milk soap, you will need coconut milk, lye, and oil.
Glycerin is created in the soap-making process. Extra glycerin can certainly be added.
Blocks of glycerin are actually soap that is meltable and moldable. With blocks, one does not MAKE soap, one MOLDS soap that has been commercially made with the addition of plasticizers and detergents.
