I have a swarm of honey bees and need a hive for them

    My dad raised bees, and at the time, could get equipment from Sears. They may even still handle all the frames, waxes, knives, etc, that you will need. The first thing you’ll need is a smoker, so you don’t get stung, some hat and nettings for your face, and the ability to know if the queen is in the swarm. If they have already settled in (likely, since it is fall, and they’ve likely been there since spring) they won’t live when moved unless you find the queen, and she in in the hive when you move it.

  2. You might contact one of the local beekeepers who sell honey commercially (look on the store shelves for their names). I bet that they can tell you the best place to buy a hive. Have found several hives at work (the university) and someone would call the local beekeepers and see if they wanted to capture the swarm, they were always willing to come out and take them.
