Worm Farm

A worm farm is a really easy way to deal with food scraps, reduce landfill, and make compost.

Here’s my old worm farm, which I used for about a year. My friend Xoe and I made it from a second-hand rubbish bin. It worked pretty well, but was a little too small and there was no easy way to get the composted soil out through that hatch without hurting a few innocent worms in the process.

  1. Get a breeding pair and wait for the results.

  2. get a bucket and fill it with things like vegetable peelings (things that will easily decompose) and then find like 5 worms to ensure you have at least 1 male and 1 female and wait for the results.

  4. We have a worm farm at home that we bought from wiggly wigglers. wigglywigglers.co.uk. if you go to the site they sell whole kits (a can-o-worms) or you can just by the worms themselves. We have had ours a few years now and it is a really good alternative to composting our kitchen waste.
