i have a green spotted puffer. i fed it these fish… small in fact and it won’t eat it… and when i was looking at the web… i was searching GSP and they were puffed… if they were puffed, would they die?

No, a puffer puffs as defense against predators. When ever they feel threatened they puff up to look bigger as a scare tactic or to be too large for the other fish to consider eating. It is similar to the Australian frilled lizard which puffs out a frill of skin around its neck to look bigger and scarier, or why all the hair on a cat puffs out when they feel threatened or angry. It is not like a bee sting which kills the bee later.
Green spotted puffers can do well in freshwater when they are young, but will need a brackish environment as they mature. That means you’ll need to raise the salt level in the tank when they grow to adulthood. I wish you luck with your fish, and I hope I was a help.
