  1. I used to be in the business of selling solar water heating for multi family units. That is a very hard thing to sell even when there were tax advantages.

The problem to solve is the following. Most multi-unit buildings do not supply heated water to each unit. The units pay for thier own water heater and gas or electric.

How can the owner make more money repiping and removing all the water heaters and supplying free hot water to the building (s).

There is no simple answer to this question. Would you pay more rent for free hot water???

You have to sell solar water heaters to new buildings. You have to help the building owner get more rent for supplying free hot water.

  2. call as amny retailers as you can find, or know of who sell water heaters. even negotiate a deal to sell them at a lower price for volume purchases. sales is one of the hardest careers in business. many are unable to sell anything regardless of what the product is. most sales people are outgoing, and having the gift for talking to total strangers is a big plus. it will often sell the product when you can talk to a buyer, not down to one. the buyer isn’t stupid, but the product must have something to help it sell itself.
most buyers want to be convinced to buy, but they don’t want to feel obligated to do so. don’t use hardball tactics, it’ll cost you more business than it will ever generate.
convince the buyer, lead him to want the product. but don’t shove it down his throat. the soft sell will sell more than any other method.

  3. Tell your boss if he would not charge 5 times more than they are worth, you might be able to sell some.
