It turned out well…I liked the flavor the crispeness of it. It does crumble some when you cook it. Considering it is already cooked you are just making it crisp….
Hi Misty! I followed your video and canned bacon. It turned out great!! I also canned some store bought pepperoni. I haven’t opened it yet but it looks pretty good. What I am wondering is if I could can the pepperoni the same way you do your bacon? I feel like the parchment paper would absorb some of the grease and that would be a good thing. Does it make sense to you as a possibility or have you tried it yourself? Thanks and have a blessed day!!!
I have watched several ppl here on youtube can bacon so I decided I would give it a try. I decided to try your method without cutting the extra parchment paper. I just rolled it up like you did and it turned out perfect.. Thanks for that tip……I love your channel

I wasn’t paying attention and only put 2 quarts of water in the canner when I should have put 3 in. The pressure cooker rocked the 10lb. weight for 90 minutes, but when I opened the lid there was only about 1/2 cup of water in there. Do you think this is okay or should I re cook these jars? They all popped but I am wondering if I needed that extra quart of water in there.
@Misty Prepper Where-abouts are y’all from? The reason I ask is that sometimes your accent reminds me of my “grammaw” … she was from the Ozarks in Arkansas but they say Ozark folks are just transplanted Appalachians. Just curious … enjoyed your video!
Canned bacon is a >good item to have stored. It will last. It provides Protein & Fat (lard) to the diet. Add canned-bacon to Corn & it will sustain people.

You are welcome. It does help. It is good, it is crisp, it kinda falls apart though, Yes it does cook in the jar, it is pressure cooked. You can eat it straight out of the jar if neccassary. But it cooks up crisp….Thanks Misty
I have not watched the other videos that you are talking about and so I am very glad you did one too. May God bless your family and thank you for showing me how to do this.

Misty, with the jars of bacon in the pressure canner, was the water ABOVE the lids? How far? What size jars where those?

Thanks for the tip on the parchment paper, that probably helps roll it up tightly as well.
I have never had canned bacon, what is that like? Does it cook in the can? I would think so … does it come out crispy or can you crisp it up somehow?
