solar water heater

We love having a mini hot water heater when we are camping out at Moosicorn. Previously, we used Solar Bags which are great, but are hard to control the temperature on. If you get a cloudy day, your shower is cold and if its extremely sunny, you’re bound to burn yourself!

This is the Eccotemp Systems Portable Tankless Water Heater with Shower Head. The only downfall with this model has been the shower head. The on off toggle was difficult to use when under pressure from water in the hose, so we switched out the shower head for one without an on off switch and fashioned our own…one that allowed for some more leverage against all the water pressure.

  1. I would suggest a tank-less.If sized properly they will save you money in the long run,,They take up little space–and are energy star rated. They cost more–but aren’t pigs on electric like tanked water heaters.a solar system is still going to need a back-up.
