Where did you get your milker? I am 3 days into milking our brand new Jersey and she keeps stepping on the bucket, plus in west Tx there isn’t grass like there so the dirt is always blowing into the buckets. And lastly, my hands already are killing me! lol
We are doing the very same thing. We have had cows, mostly angus and I wanted a milk cow sooooo bad. What I hate is that when I tell people that- I get the strangest looks. We JUST brought home our Dairy Shorthorn heifer today, due to calf in the next couple weeks and I’m sooo excited. I have only milked a cow once by hand – but after 5 kids, I think I can do this! LOL! Thank you for the video- showed my husband for inspiration and example. Thanks

Loved the vid. I lived on a small farm and raised all kinds of farm animals. Our first cow was a Jersey and her name also was buttercup, if I remember correctly I milked her for 6 yrs, from the age of 10 to 16 Then my parents divorced and they sold the farm. I recently acquired 10 acres of my granparents old Homestead, It is a mess I hope to document the rebuilding of it and post my progress. I injoyed the video, thanks for the memories.
