Question by divineoofasis: Anyone notice bees dying locally? Mid-San Diego County?
This summer I’ve noticed, for the first time, dead bees (yellow jackets) dead on our patio and our deck. Not lots of bees at one time, but two or three times I week I find dead ones. We’re not using any chemicals on our shrubs, although I can’t speak for neighbors. Lived here for 10 years, and this is the first I’ve ever noticed. We also replaced our lawn with a patio, so perhaps it’s just more noticeable? It disturbs me because I know it’s a worldwide phenomena.

Lemon Grove here, and yes! I will be outback, and I do have bees that like to visit my lemon tree, but I will find a dead bee or two occasionally on the walkway beneath it, not a lot, like you said, but enough to make me go “hmmm…” like the other responce, I have read of a virus or something causing colony collaps disorder, but I’m not finding a whole dead colony, just a few bees here and there, wow, glad I’m not the only one who has seen this!

dont know why, but they are dieing. not your fault, they are just endangered, but if you do see one dont kill it.

If this problem isn’t solved and solved fast the world food supply is on it’s last leg.
My family physician has a hobby of raising bees and he is just loosing them right and left.
As far as I know they really don’t know the exact cause.
Because all of the articles say PROBABLE CAUSE not definate cause.
