Huge Canning jar Haul! Thanks to Brendahere!

Check Out Brenda’s Channel: www.youtube.com Lowe’s www.lowes.com Last night Brenda of the Brendahere channel put up a video alerting everyone to the fact that Lowe’s had put their canning jars on sale for half price! Well instead of going to the store I got online because last week when I was in there they told me they were all sold out of them. I put in the search information and it allowed me to purchase 13 flats of canning jars 8 jelly and 5 quart. I tried to get more of a different size and I actually paid for the order, but the store called and said that there had been a mistake in their inventory and they did not have those particular jars. They refunded my money. I was not too sad, because of the other jars. So you are seeing this as we are putting the jars in our storage. I drive by this place twice a day on my way to and from work, so it’s easy to get if I need them. So go check out Brenda’s channel, she is a whiz at couponing and finding great deals! Get them while you can! Do it online and pick it up at the store, there is no shipping cost that way. Happy Hauling! 1. I wasn’t able to get any jars at any of my Lowes but I was able to get 43 packs of regular canning lids at 84 cents each. I was totally stoked about that, also got 3 packs of the dissolvable labels to try at 50% off. So thanks for the heads up on that!!!

  6. My Lowe’s was out of stock completely, but for the first time in years I was able to find 2 cases of quart jars at my thrift store. They sold each case for $1.20. I was ok with that 🙂 Thanks for the heads up on Lowe’s though. Good to remember for next year too!

  7. Thanks for the tip! I have never ever before canned anything, and I felt like this was a sign that I should start! I have been dying to make some Habanero Jelly! 🙂 So I went to my local Lowes, and NO LUCK! 🙁 They were all out, and they were out online as well
BUT my BRILLIANT boyfriend suggested that I call menards to see if they price match and YES THEY DO! So I bought three flats of jelly jars, to start! I’m soooo excited to try canning jelly. I can’t wait to try your pineapple recipe! 🙂

  8. Obviously spoken by a person who does not can their own food. My home canned gods are not going to go bad anytime soon. There are ways to tell if your canned goods are bad, that is why we don’t store them with the rings on them. Proper safety during the initial canning process is what ensures a good long shelf life. I can assure you that I am not going to make my family sick, much less poison them. I think you need to do a little more research before you keep making ignorant comments.

  9. How will you use up all of your canned things? & why don’t you use up what you have so you can use those jars before they go bad & you get sick or poisened.

  10. I went to Walmart with the Lowes print out and they said they don’t price match from on line sales… I didn’t see that on the commercials. They simply say we will price match other stores.UGH!!!

  16. You can print it out and take it in store @ Home Depot, WallMart, Winn Dixie and they will honor that sell price. I did it today Thanks for the Sales Alert I got the last of Lowes, Home Depot was completely out and Walmart in the area I was in today was low on stock but I’ll be hitting another one tomorrow while I’m in that area. Any store that takes other store sale items. The big boys are stealing (shoppers) money out of each others pockets …. It’s just to funny.

  20. Both Lowes in my area are out of jars, but I got 1 box of wide mouth lids for $2.19, 1 box of freezer containers for $1.99, and the Ball Book for $2.99.
I think I’m going to start a calendar for next year with the dates marked for this and the Dollar General seed sales. But I’m going to put a note to start checking the stores 2 weeks BEFORE the date.

  21. You’re so right Bobby! I don’t need them right now either, but I will eventually! I think if I ordered more quarts I could get them and I may, just to have them. I usually don’t do much in quarts, I opt for pints most of the time. Certainly a good investment!
