  2. organic agriculture is what we originally started out growing out food from – no chemicals involved – this was because it was all that was available at that time. but as technology has improved so has the chemicals that are able to be used on crops.

the pros to being organic are:
that you are not putting harmful chemicals into the bodies of the consumer and the environment. this has been linked to cancer in some cases and could become more of an issue with time when we start to see more of the results from the chemicals. the food that is grown organically has a greater taste and will last longer in most cases. there can be lower costs, you are not spending money an weed and pest control. organic produce has a greater value and is look upon as a better product.

the cons for being organic are:
that you have a greater loss of produce because insect and animal damage is greater. the weed control in the paddock is harder to control, causing more competition between the crop and the weed. organic farming requires both greater time and skill as well, thus making it less attractive to farmers to take up.

hope that answers your question and is understandable… 🙂
