Question by k_erdahl: is it ok to scald my broiler chickens in soft water or will the salt effect the meat & scalding?
something tells me that its not because with the salt in the water or whatever is soft water. we are wanting to butcher some of our own chickens but arent sure if we should use soft water. anybody know?

Soft water does have sodium salts to replace the hard water salts and is not reccommended for driinking. However, the small amount f salt will not hurt your process.

When we scald chickens we add salt to the water so I can’t see any reason not to use soft water. Good luck and happy plucking!!
