holy cows!! haha u do milk oldschool. I work in a swing 21 parallel parlor, 350 head of cattle. i cant imagine doing all of that by hand like u do. automatic take-off is so much nicer.

actually tie stalls require more work then freestalls. There is no way to keep cows outside all year so they have to live somewhere. I bet you have never even been to a dairy farm have you?

im pretty sure she’s a red and white holstien, all the cows do have names it makes it a lot easier for milking and stuff, no Jereseys or anything just holstien, and those are heifers at the end
Who’s the frisky red & white at the end of the video? I can’t tell if she’s ayrshire or red/white holstien. But, she appears like she’s looking for some attention, handout/treat, or a good petting. All your cow’s must have names? I seen a few names at the end of the video. Are those cows on the lot dry cows/heifers? They sure do look contented. Do you have any Linebacks or Jerseys on the farm?
At the organic dairy farm I worked on we’d always turn on the local AM polka radio show on during Sunday morning milking. After the local AM polka show was done, we’d tune in the WDEZ Wausau polka show. I think the cows would go on strike if we didn’t turn on polkas. The cows would probably lose track of what day of the week it is too if their were no polkas.
i totally agree with you, most of the kids just join for the trips and get out of school, never come to the meetings or anything, just sign up for the trips

Love your tie stall barn. So many canadian dairy farms milk in tie stalls. It is a great way to manage a small herd and produce quality milk.

i hooftrim cows feet,for 18 years now. smaller herds are nice places to work. location,northwest wisconsin,usa.
