Question by Kira C: I have a question about ducks and texas?
No I don’t want to kill a duck or a in Texas exact opposite I live in a suburb of Austin, Texas (the capitol) and I was wondering, could I hatch and raise ducks in the city limits of Austin??? What do you think and what’s the law?

  1. Unfortunately no, ducks are considered live stock and the city of austin has an ordnance against keeping livestock in the city. Call city hall and make sure you are not in an area of the city that is annexed into the ordnance before you do it or animal control will take them and fine you.

  3. I think you CAN have livestock within Austin city limits. But you must comply with regulation about how far from your neighbors house. I’m not sure why the previous answer said you can’t.
