Question by Jackson K: How many tomatoes, cucumbers, ect can you grow with a square foot garden?
I need to know how many vegytables you can grow in 1 square foot of the square foot gardening system. Anything will help thanks

probably 10 tomatoes(1 bush) and 3-4 cucumbers (1bush)

you really cant grow much. plants need ample amounts of space and need to expand their roots. if you put a tomato plant in a square foot garden it will grow to regular size. but if you put two plants in that amount of space they may fight each other and die. you need to get more room or need to grow only one plant. one plant = about 1 square foot

You’ll definitely need a whole square for each tomato bush, but cucumbers you can probably grow 4 in a square.
One plant in a square: cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, pepper, eggplant, okra, tomato
Four plants in a square: lettuce (crisphead, butterhead, loose leaf), Swiss chard (silver beet), bush beans, kai laan tsoi, baak choi, choi sum, komatsuna, Indian mustard
Nine plants in a square: lettuce (cos, mini), beet root, radish, spinach, een choi (leaf amaranth), garlic,
16 plants in a square: radish, carrot, spring onion, celery
A friend of mine says you can put more than 16 carrots, radishes and spring onions per square, but I haven’t confirmed
