  1. as of right now it is run off of thermal siphoning, the heat of the water actually powers the heat exchange. Once I finish the system it will be powered by a 12v pump from a battery charged by a 40 watt panel.

  2. on the waste of energy.. i have seen on other videos and will do myself when i do it. It is also using solar panels to produce the energy you need to run the pumps. that way your system should not be using any energy at all.

  3. I am working on both methods you mentioned and also working on a rocket water heating system, the latter shows some extreme heat promises. Conventional water heaters are very inefficient, they run constantly and waste tons of energy. The closed loop system uses propylene glycol as an antifreeze and heat transfer medium, I have been very busy building my cob community I havent had much time to do further work or video of it yet. Hopefully that will change this summer!!

  4. would you not have the water going thru a circuit and as it warms, you would keep circulating the warm water and then the hot water? and then like a normal water heater no cold water would be introduced to the system until you use hot water? I have seen 2 types of solar water heaters.. one is where the fluid in the system is just a closed circuit the is just circulated thru the pipes and then heats the usable water in the tank.
