www.virtualfarmtours.ca Milking goats is much like milking cows. Transcript (dairy goat farm) Jim — There’s 56 that are coming in. That’s the size of the parlor. When they come in they have some special feed in their trough in front of them. Now putting the milkers on the goats. That’s what takes the milk out of the goats. It goes down from the milkers into stainless steel lines to the end of the parlor and then it goes to a pump and into the milkhouse which is in another room where we have a big holding tank. The bulk tank, that’s where the milk is stored and that’s where it’s cooled. The goats will go through the opposite door and they will go back to their pen that they came out of. They always go back into the same pen.
Why are they so fat?
