Does anyone have a worm farm?

I started a little worm farm last month. I followed the directions from a web site and set it up in a rubber maid bin. I put 1000 worms divided into 2 bins. My problem is, in one of the bins, the worms keep trying to get out. They never can get past the lip of the lid, but when I open it.. there they are all bunched up together trying to escape. The worms in the other bin never do this. I really don’t think I did anything different in the bins. What would cause my little creatures to want to escape. Any advise on this would be appreciated. Thanks
