It was a lot of fun (and so fast!) to build these beds with Green City Growers [1]
Question by : How many pepper plants can I grow in a 4×4 raised bed garden?
I am new new to this ! Right now I have 9 plants in a 4×4 space. 3 Tabasco Peppers, 3 bell pepper 1 Habenero and 1 red Bell. I’m sure I’m doing this wrong. What should I take out? How many should put in that space from now on? Thank You!

You should be able to plant peppers about 18-24 inches apart each way, depending on the type and how good your soil is (more in good soil). Do the math.

I have very similar sized raised beds that I have grown peppers in for several years. I always put the plants on the perimeter a little closer to the edge so the plants in the middle have enough room. I put
6 or 8 plants in a 2′ x 4′ bed, so you should be fine and might even be able to add a couple. Some plants grow outward a little more than upward, but the 9 you’ve planted so far will be fine and you’ve given them more than enough room.
I love the peppers because they are such lovely, small, easy to care for plants that grow in a lot of different soil types. Plus, most varmints and furry creatures don’t usually have much to do with them, especially the Habeneros.

I just planted peppers today. The directions said to space 18″ apart
