Meet a Canadian Turkey Farm Family Video

www.virtualfarmtours.ca Meet a Canadian turkey farm family and hear how they enjoy raising turkeys and living in the country. Transcript (Brent) My parents bought this farm in 1975. My father farmed, both my grandfathers farmed and my uncle has farmed. It’s a tradition. (Christa) I was born and raised on a dairy farm where I grew up and I always felt that I would never marry a farmer. But here I find myself today loving it. So I see us spending a lot of years here on the farm. I enjoy raising my kids here; it’s a good place for them to grow up. (Brent) We really enjoy farming turkeys because we get to watch animals grow from very young poults into full-sized birds. And I enjoy working with my family. My girls like to help me with the little birds. Turkey farming gives us a variety of things to do and every day is different. (Hayleigh & Emily) We like working in the barn with our Dad. (Brent) Consumer demand for turkey has really increased over the last few years. There’s a very positive feeling among farmers that demand will continue to grow. I think there’s a good future in turkey farming.
