Southend library has a really excellent photography section. I spent a pleasant forty-five minutes flicking through various compendiums of work by Eggleston, Winogrand and Parr. The latter practically has a shelf to himself due to his prolific output. "Bliss" is one of Martin Parr’s collections of postcards, in this case kitsch portraits of lovey-dovey couples. Ironically, I spent my blissful time in the library after picking up another of Parr’s books (which I actually paid for!) from the sorting office. I have so much bedtime reading now. And since it’s the middle of the afternoon, bed is where I’m off to. G’night!

LARGE.

Question by Amanda K: Any advice for getting rid of birds that are ruining my flower bed?
The birds are digging holes, probably in search of worms, but they are leaving holes in the dirt, scattering mulch and pooping all over the surrounding wall. I have tried pinwheels to scare them off and Critter Ridder all over the flower bed to deter them but nothing has worked, any advice?
