  8. shoot at it with an airsoft gun, then stick your head in to check whether they’re all dead.

  9. get the bug foam. it’s like shaving cream. squirt it into their nest so it fills up with foam and they all die or at least not have a nest to come back to. best time to do it at night when they are sleeping

  10. Call a pest removal service. Stay away, hives can be dangerous.

  11. You’ll need to plug the hole they are using. If you still have a problem, call the extension service in your area – they will come out and let you know the best way to get rid of them.

  12. Get some thick leather gloves, grab the hive and put it in a garbage pail with a tight lid (or learn to run quickly). Personally, I would call someone trained in bee keeping and leave it to the professionals. It’s worth a few bucks to keep from getting stung.

  15. We had a full-grown “Winnie-the-Pooh” size behive in one of our bushes a couple of years ago.

The bees go to sleep at night so we waited until nighttime, sprayed it with bee spray, and lit it on fire. It was just too big to do it any other way.

Since it’s under your spa, you’ll have to spray it and remove it quickly before it can be burned. Be careful.

  16. With yellow jackets (which are really wasps, not bees), I know you have to use the poison at night to get them while they are resting in their nest. In this situation, it may be best to hire a professional exterminator. They will know what will work. And you can avoid getting stung!

  17. What you need to do is call some professional exterminators who specialize in bees – they will have the proper equipment, the right techniques, and you’ll save yourself a lot of stings.

In the future, don’t even try to do this yourself. You are lucky that they weren’t killer bees, which would have aggressively attacked you – you could have risked anaphylaxis (allergic shock) and had to carry a bee sting kit around with you for the rest of your life if you survived it.

  18. Go to your local Home depot and buy this powerful spray,
don’t know the name of it but it works. Ask somebody around the store.

  20. I have had great success using Sevin Dust which is a powder that can be purchased at Walmart or Kmart in the garden section.. Just put this dust where the bees are nesting and the bees should be gone in 24 hrs. Sevin dust is fatal to bees. Good luck

  21. Only do this at night…Prepare a torch (a stick with a cloth at the end), dip/spray it with gas, light it up and hold it right under the beehive. It’ll burn the beehive and kill virtually all the bees. To be on the safe side, cover yourself with a blanket before doing so. Works like a charm.

  22. I see you’ve recieved some good answers on getting rid of them. Smoke and comercial sprays normally work well to kill the pests. However, those who escaped or were out when you sprayed will come back and attempt to rebuild. We always take a squirting oil can and coat the area where the nest was and any remaining nest that’s there. They will not stay where the oil is.
