Hydroponics for the home. The basics of how to build a 70 plant hydroponics unit from scratch in one day. Total cost was under 0. Supplies food all year (but I’m still searching for good crop candidates for South Florida in summer.)

  1. @sneak400 Duuuude, this really wouldn’t be useful for weed. Small plants only!

  7. I bought it online for $40. Its a leave-in aquarium ph meter. (I’ve had it for several months and it just died—supposedly has a two year warranty.) RE: bitterness—this batch is not bitter at all…must be just a summer problem–humidity, etc.

  8. Where did you buy your pH meter and what brand is it? I’m looking on amazon but I don’t see anything like it. Otherwise great operation!

If you put that thing under CFLs or HIDs and moved it inside I bet you would lose your pest problem, and if you have A/C you’d lose the bitterness problem too.

  12. Nutrients are not depleted in two weeks so I let them go 6-8 weeks. They’ve done great but I will experiment further. My theory is that they drink alot of water but not necessarily all the nutes. (I added 2 gallons per day when the plants matured. PPM meter says water still has full nutrient levels even after 6 weeks. Also..I used a less nutrients than full strength due to the heat. Bought the aquarium meter online–mssg me for the name of the store.
