Question by S.Z.: How many cubic feet of soil will I need for a raised garden bed?
I am trying to find out how many bas for soil I will need to buy for my raised garden bed that is 5′ L x 2 1/2′ W x 1′ H?

Can someone figure out this math problem and post the answer? 10 points!!!

  1. Your garden bed has the area of 12.5 ft³

    so you will need 12.5 cubic feet of soil.

  2. Yep, emberfly has it correct.

    However, if you don’t fill to the 1 foot depth, it will use less.

    Find the book ‘Square Foot Gardening’ Your garden does not need to be 1 foot deep.
