Question by alex: Urban Backyard Chicken Coop?
Does anyone have information on which cities in Canada and America have laws that allow you to have a backyard chicken coop? Do any of you folks live in a city and have chickens? What are the legal issues?

thanks
i need SPECIFICS. specific cities and their specific laws – preferably your city and your personal legal experiences with having a few chickens, and particularly Canadian cities if possible.
i am also looking for a list that includes canadian cities of where it is legal to have chickens. (i can’t find any through google that include canada, or quebec)

  1. Many small cities in the United States allow backyard chickens. Every year more localities are changing their laws to allow it. Typical restrictions are no more than 6 birds and no roosters. Keeping chickens is a fast growing hobby.
