One pond like this can hold up to 3ton of fish.
Question by fire_man23: I was looking at buying a 29gallon AquaCulture fish tank kit from Wal-Mart.?
It Comes with the Filter, Hood, and heater. Would this be a good kit to start a salt-water tank with?
Feel free to answer in the comment section below
Probably not. Saltwater tanks should be larger, and require more equipment. Your question indicates that your first purchase should be a good book or two.

Nope, saltwater tanks are a lot more complex and do better with a much larger tank.
However, that is a perfect kit to start a freshwater tank with!

you can start a simple water tank with simple hardy fish like damsels in it with some extra equipment no problem. you can’t start a reef tank in it — you will need a lot of additional lighting for that. i suggest going to a fish store and asking them lots of questions before you start though. you might find you would be happier with a planted tank or maybe even just a couple goldfish. everything has different requirements and requires different equipment.

dont listen to every body else!!!! i have a 20 gallon reef tank and it was meant for freshwater and all i did was get a strong lightbulb and i dug around for a powerhead from our old pond and just bought some salt (i also have a 10 gallon reef tank) so take my advice… if u like the way the tank looks then buy it! next buy some salt aquatic gardens or instant ocean! set it up and let it cycle for a month get a specific gravity of about 1.023. also buy the kent reef starter kit and follow the instructions. oh and TRY to get some live rock about 20 lbs. u dnt have to get that much but it makes it look really nice. then get a simple yet cheap anemone and see if u can take care of that and if u can then you can upgrade and make sure EVERYTHING is reef safe. No condylactis anemones damselfish and MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more!!! so take my advice i know that your tank will work out so go ahead and buy the tank cuz its available at the walmart price always low prices lolololololololololol hahahahahahha tell me later how it turns out add me as one of the friend things on this site!! heres a great website click the links on the left of the site for info.
